Barely Awake?

Statement

After four years of living nomadically, my recent works draw inspiration from the profound truth that I’ve found in the slowness and expansiveness of the natural world.  I gravitate towards working on large canvas and playing with vibrant colors and swirling patterns that give the onlooker permission to be absorbed into a loving, immersive vortex.  My mission as an artist is to offer a moment of connection where the observer merges with their own inner world, viscerally stimulating a hug for the mind.

Kalee Bly Choiniere (art alias Barely Awake) is a traveling painter, muralist, and designer originally from Providence, RI. She primarily focuses on painting by bridging her inner world with the outer by using bright, whimsical imagery.
